Frequently Asked Questions

Our ferries run approximately every half-hour from Dunquin Pier starting at 10:00 a.m.

Depending on the state of the tide, a dingy transfer at Dunquin to the ferry may be required and is required at the island.

The trip to the island takes approximately 20 minutes on the ferry.

Passengers will be informed on the day of travel as to when the last ferry of the day will run, this can vary depending upon the weather.

You will be required to don a lifevest during dingy transfers, any rucksacks, haversacks etc. should be carried by hand when wearing the lifevest.

The lifevest should only be removed when safely on-board the ferry or ashore.

For safety reasons, you should retain your boarding pass whilst on the island, it will be collected on the return trip and allow us to verify by tally that everyone is accounted for. For this reason also we would ask our passengers to return to Dunquin on the same ferry that brought you out.

If you intend camping, or otherwise staying overnight on the island, please inform the ticket office or a member of the crew on the ferry.
